Merry Christmas
As I set here in front of the computer with the last hours of Christmas eve dwindling away I would like to take the time to wish everyone a very safe and happy holiday. Like myself some of you are surely beginning to build your base for the next race season so good luck with all your training. I hope 2007 found all of you successful and I hope 2008 is bigger and better. Special thanks to my lady for making this the best year of my life so far and the best holidays I have ever known! I have a most wonderful family. Stay tuned for more training and racing updates.

Don't Call it a comeback!!!
Whats up all my endurance studs. Wow! It's been a long time since I have posted. A lot's happened since my last post. I'm no longer married but I'm in a commited relationship with the greatest girl I have ever met. Amber and I were made for eachother. My season went farily well. I capt off my season with a 7th place finish at the Heart of the Hills 10k in Michigan. Well it's snowing slightly outside right now so you know what that means. I'm slightly out of shape and fealing fat!!! But it's December. Actually off season training has just gotten into full swing. I have started my base running training and I'm hoping (fingers crossed) that I get a bike trainer for Christmas. I start swimming in the next couple of weeks with the NASTI's and I'm supplementing all this at work with insane workouts from both the P90X system and CrossFit. Well thats all I have for now. Until next time keep frigen moving!!!!!!

Mid May updates
What up yall! It's the Headbangin Triathlete here. So it's been forever and a day since I last posted. There has been a lot going on in my world since March so time and energy have been at a premium. The spring racing season is underway and myself and the rest of the NFD runners here in Noblesville are coming into form. So for starters NFD finished 5th overall in the badge match at this years 500 Festival Mini Marathon. Fishers FD finished in 4th beating us by 26 points. Yours truly also had the best mini yet running 1:29:24 and a top 500 finish. Overall I was 478. That was out of 29,000 plus finishers.
This weekend the NFD runners did the Dances With Dirt extreme trail relay. The team consisted of myself and 3 others from the department. We could not find a fifth runner so we ran with 4. All throughout this 62 mile trail relay we were hearing we were in 4th and maybe 5th overall. This was made even much sweeter by the fact that we were putting the hurt on Fishers Fire Dept. who beat us a week earlier in the mini. Well all said and done with Handicaps for the other teams we finished 20th out of 90 and due to a timing issue the results show Fishers FD as beating us. we ran the race straight up and if you go off of overall time alone we finished 9th overall.
Well thats all for now. Next up for me is a solo run at the Warbird Brewery 10k

Holiday Park Trail 5 miler
So I will be entering a new age division Saturday at the Holiday Park Trail Run. It should be fun. My brother and his girlfriend are coming down from Michigan for my birthday and we will be running it together. This will be a fun way to get my 5 miles in this weekend. There is no need to over do it. I'm building my base slowly for the up coming season and just want to have enough of a base to not get injured during the 500 Festival Indy Mini Marathon. Race report to follow. Until then hit the trails because spring is here!!!

Back in the Saddle Again!!!

Well it just turned cold again here in the last 24 hours but Monday and Weds were both in the 70's. I took advantage and got out for two 1 hour easy bike rides. There is no better feeling than being out on a warm day getting some training in. I don't care if it's on the bike or the run it feels great during the first few warm days of the year. Summers almost here!

Rest Day
Well it's been awhile since I have last posted. Things are getting ready to pick up in my training. I'm still going back and forth with a slight "pull" sensation in my left leg. It may be an IT band or my hip may be out of alignment. I'm not sure so I have been easing back into my running very slowly. I'm also taking daily ice baths and using "The Stick" for prevention.
My last race did not go as planned. On February 17th I ran a 5k here in Indianapolis and tried to run 18:50 or better to establish my seeding time for the 500 festival mini marathon in may. Well after a major snow the night before and during the event things were way to slick to run fast. It ended up being a "fun" run in the snow. The winning rime was 19:49 by a guy that ran 15:40 a couple weeks before!!!
Well that's all for now. Hopefully tomorrow it will get into the 40's and I will take my bike out for the first time in 07'

Cross Fit
So I did my first "puppies" version of a cross fit WOD today. Let me just say that I think this is going to be the best workout routine I have ever participated in. For those of you that don't know what cross fit is you will be amazed. It's basically a theory revolving around dynamic natural movements in a high intensity constantly changing atmosphere. Also BrandXMartialArts is an excellent source for scaled back cross fit WOD's for beginners. I can already see that I will see major gains in my triathlon training do to cross fit. Thats all for today. Peace out.

It's been a while
Hey all you endurance stud's out there. It's been a while since I posted. Lot's been going on around here so I have been away from the computer. I'm happy to say that my IT band problem might finally be going away so I should be back to running full time again next week. In other good news I finally found a pool. I joined the Noblesville Adult Swim Team so now I will have access to a pool 4 times a week for a minimal fee of 35 dollars a year. I'm pretty stoked about that. Well I got some new cold weather gear I'm going to try out tomorrow and report back on and I will also be reporting back on an experiment I'm doing right now involving 5 different types of energy bars. I think I will start a weekly fuel post. Until next time get your butt's outside and keep moving.
